We’ve never been photographed before and feel uncomfortable in front of a camera. How will you make sure we look and feel my best on our wedding or elopement day?
Before we even pick up our cameras, we make sure we do the legwork to really get to know our clients before we photograph them. We always request a one-on-one client consultation before your engagement shoot, adventure elopement, or intimate/small wedding. During this time we dig deep to get to know the essence of your couples personality, which helps us make sure your photos look uniquely like you both. From there, we go out and scout photoshoot locations that we know will perfectly compliment you.
We will be there to help you select the perfect outfits for your shoot. We provide all of our clients with our style guides, and we provide our phone numbers so you can call or text us if you're unsure about what to wear. It's our goal to make sure you show up to your session without a care in the world, because the location and your outfits are put together in advance of a single photo being taken.
During the shoot, elopement, or wedding itself, we always make sure to provide you with plenty of direction in front of the camera. Some couples know exactly how they want to act and pose in front of our camera, while others are completely new to it. We cater our direction to how comfortable you're feeling, and we never leave you to figure it all out by yourself. During couples shoots and adventure sessions, we'll get you playing and having fun in a way that is both entertaining for you and also looks great on camera (Not sure what we mean? Check out one of our favorite engagement sessions. The couple was so scared at the beginning because they had never really been photographed like this before. But with the right direction from us, they absolutely looked like pros).
Your site says you’re based in Colorado. Can you travel for our adventure wedding or elopement?
Yes! While Colorado is home to us, we are always willing to travel. All we ask is that our travel costs are covered. We do have reduced travel costs for adventure elopements and intimate weddings in the following states, since we have family and friends in these places: Georgia, southern California, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama (within a 100 mile radius of Birmingham).
We also have a few dream locations we are dying to shoot at. If your adventure elopement is in one of these locations, we have a deal for you. Just fill out our contact form and we'll fill you in on the details!
We know we want to have an adventure elopement, but we’re not quite sure where. Will you be able to help us find the right elopement location?
Absolutely. Honestly, that’s one of our favorite things about this job. We’re always spending our free weekends getting out to hike and location scout for our couples. We keep a list of some of our favorite places we’ve been to, as well as another list of places we haven’t visited but know would be epic to elope in. Many couples come to us without having specific locations in mind, and we don’t really expect them too either! That’s what we’re here for: to guide you through the elopement planning process.
There are so many wedding photographers out there. Why exactly should we pick you?
We agree. There are many talented wedding and elopement photographers out there, several of which are our dear friends. Picking the perfect one for you is no doubt a daunting task, especially when balancing all of the details of an adventure elopement or intimate/small wedding. That being said, the clients that book us always seem to tell us that they chose us because of our distinct style and client experience. That they just couldn't imagine anyone else taking their photos. They love the timeless and nostalgic feeling of our photos, because it speaks to them on a basic and emotional level. They also really appreciate that we help the throughout the elopement or wedding planning process, from helping them select the best outfits for the engagement adventure session to creating a day-of timeline if they aren’t working with a wedding planner. Because we specialize in small weddings and adventure elopements, we make it our business to know all the little details of planning these types of weddings, from staying up to date on permit requirements to helping you decide which national parks, hiking trails, and mountain lakes make for the best place to say “I do.”
While there are many photographers out there, there are also many styles. Think of photographers as flavors of ice cream. You're not just going to walk up to the counter of an ice cream shop and ask for a cone. You're going to pick the flavor that makes your mouth water (personally, we're all about anything pistachio or coffee flavored!).
If we don't make your mouth water, we totally understand. We'd be happy to refer you to one of our photographer friends whose style and client experience may be more in line with yours. But if you find yourself really connecting with our images and the way we see the world through our lens, then we definitely want to hear from you.
What can we promise you, though? We're all about the details. To us, a photo should do more than just capture a moment; it should speak to the soul. We put so much time and consideration into the way we style and direct our clients and how we select our shoot locations, because we know how important it is to do justice to our amazing clients. As two people who happen to be very self-conscious around the camera, we understand the fears our clients go through. Because of that, we're prepared to help you push through the fear, let go, and have an absolutely wonderful time on your adventure elopement or intimate/small wedding day. After all, if the two of us can look good in front of the camera, we know you can too!
I think you guys are the photographers for us, but I'm not 100% sure just yet. What do we do next?
We get it. Picking the perfect adventure elopement or intimate/small wedding photographer can be difficult. It's an investment in yourself, your love, and the memories you plan on reliving as the years go on. We definitely don't take this job lightly. So if you're on the fence, definitely schedule a consultation with us. We'll talk you through the details of what we do and how we can achieve your vision. If after speaking with us, you're still not feeling it, we'll happily point you in the direction of another intimate/small wedding or elopement photographer who may be better able to achieve what you're looking for. But we have a feeling that if you've gotten this far on the page, we'll probably be the right fit. We have this feeling in our gut that you're digging us as much as we're digging you.
Still on the fence about whether we're perfect for each other? Take a look at some of our client testimonials to get a feel for what it's like to work with us.
