If you couldn't already tell from my previous blog post, I'm sort of obsessed with Prague. The city has a million different hideaways that are perfect for photo shoots. On our second to last day we got up nice and early to work on this shoot, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
I really wanted to encourage myself to produce something moodier and edgier than what I usually create with my photographs. I think it's crucial to push yourself as a photographer to create art that makes you step outside of your comfort zone and question the way you've been doing things. I'll admit, creating this set of images was a little terrifying, since I really felt like I was straying from the norm. And while I'm a huge proponent of differentiating my work from that of other photographers, I wasn't sure if this shoot was maybe stepping too far outside of those boundaries.
That being said, I am so glad I did this. This is probably one of my favorite shoots to date. I love that there is a mysterious and gritty edge to these photos and that they make the viewer think a little deeper about what is going on inside the mind of the model. I hope you all enjoy looking at these images as much as I did taking them.
